About Pea Gravel
Pea gravel is a small, rounded stone for garden paths, seating areas and decorative borders. Its softer, loose surface gives a different look and feel from angular crushed limestone. It is a finish material, not a compacted base for a driveway or paver foundation.
Plan for a defined edge so the stones stay within the area you want to cover. Colour and grading can vary between loads; ask our team about current stock if a particular look or size matters to your project.
Questions about Pea Gravel
Where can I use pea gravel?
It suits garden paths, sitting areas, borders and other contained decorative spaces. For vehicle traffic or a firm structural base, ask us about a compactable aggregate instead.
How is pea gravel different from riverstone?
Pea gravel has a finer, more even appearance for paths and smaller spaces. Riverstone gives beds and landscape accents a bolder stone look. Check the current samples and available sizes before ordering.
Will it stay in place on a slope?
Because rounded gravel stays loose, it can move underfoot or wash downhill. Edging helps contain it on level areas; ask for project-specific advice before using it on a steep path or where runoff is strong.
How much pea gravel should I order?
Measure the length and width of the area and choose a depth appropriate to the project. For measurements in feet and depth in inches, length × width × depth ÷ 324 gives an approximate volume in cubic yards. Allow for uneven ground and confirm the final quantity before ordering.
